A plain band, 1.6mm or 2mm wide, with nothing to compete with your diamond. The stone sits in a gallery basket, the open metal frame under it, and four claw prongs hold it in place. It takes any of ten shapes: round, cushion, oval, princess, emerald, radiant, pear, asscher, marquise or heart.
