What is the difference between vintage and antique engagement rings?

An antique ring is old, usually 100 years or more. A vintage ring is second-hand and usually a few decades old. A vintage-inspired ring is brand new but made in an older style. Our rings are vintage-inspired, so they come new, with a certified lab grown diamond and our 30-day returns.

It depends on the ring. An antique is priced by its age, rarity and condition, and old diamonds are often cut differently from modern ones. A vintage-inspired ring with a lab grown diamond usually gets you a bigger, certified diamond for the same budget, with a modern cut that returns more light.

Milgrain is a row of tiny metal beads along the edge of a ring. It softens the ring's outline and catches the light, which gives a classic, old-world feel. It is one of the most common vintage details, and you will often see it on the band, around a halo or around the center stone.

Accepted Answer

Any size can work, and we check that your diamond fits the setting before checkout. A detailed vintage setting already carries a lot of the look, so a modest oval can feel just as special as a large one. Compare stones by their size in millimeters, not only their carat weight.
