A radiant diamond's size depends on its carat weight and whether it is cut square or elongated. A typical elongated 1 carat radiant measures about 7.0 × 4.9 mm and a 2 carat about 9.0 × 6.4 mm. A square radiant of the same weight is shorter and wider, so compare the millimeters, not just the carats.

Every radiant setting comes in platinum or in 14K or 18K gold, in yellow, white or rose. Yellow and rose gold look warm, so a diamond with a faint warm tint looks natural in them, and you can choose a lower color grade. White gold and platinum look bright and cool. Platinum costs more than gold.
