A yellow gold setting can add a little warmth to what you see, mostly at the edges of the stone. With a colorless diamond (D to F), the effect is small. Many buyers choose a near-colorless diamond (G to J) for yellow gold, because a faint warm tint blends into the gold and is hard to notice.
